Wedding! :: Rachael and Bani – Part One :: Saugatuck, Michigan

You may remember Rachael and Bani from their KILLER engagement session on the beach in Holland, Michigan. Not only are they a beautiful couple but are so nice and fun to be around. As you can tell from the engagement photos, they have no fear and genuinely love to have fun. In short, our kind of clients! : )

Rachael and Bani got married at the Laketown Golf and Conference Center in Saugatuck, Michigan. While the Laketown venue is incredible, it took on new heights with the attention to detail provided by Rachael and Bani’s families. The details were simply amazing and the flower arrangements were out of this world!

This will easily be a three part blog post so please stay tuned for more photos!! A special thanks to my wife, Rhonda, for giving up her day off to assist me as my second shooter at this wedding. She rocked it and got some amazing shots!! Thanks Rhonda!! : )

One of many fun moments of the day! Bani’s Dad is getting the royal treatment from Bani and his Mom.

30+ MPH winds on the beach didn’t stop us!! The sand was blowing so hard it stung when it hit the skin. Would love to go back to this spot when Mother Nature is a bit more accomodating.

Wedding! :: Michelle and Gerry :: Grand Rapids, Michigan

Michelle and Gerry are a very fun, caring and loving couple that were surrounded by friends and family from all over the country on their wedding day. I worked with the amazing Amy Carroll to photograph this wedding at the Amway Grand Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I loved that Michelle and Gerry held their ceremony in the Ford Presidential Ballroom and then moved to the Pantlind Ballroom for their reception. I have photographed numerous events in the Imperial Ballroom so seeing the other facilities at the Amway was a welcome and pleasant change of pace.

I have been looking forward to this wedding all year! Kelly Braman and I headed to Grand Haven on a dark and stormy morning to photograph these two very special people getting married. This is just a quick peak just in case Kristin and Brian check the blog while on their honeymoon. MANY MANY MANY more photos will be posted later in the week. : )

Abbie and Jeremy :: Wedding

I was on the road with Jen from JK Photography for this wedding on one of the rainiest, stormiest days of the year. The rain cooperated long enough for us to get outside for some photos before the ceremony but it let loose with a vengeance just as we were wrapping up photos. We decided to hit up some spots around the studio since the couple really wanted some photos with an urban edge. Enjoy the photos and be sure to check out Jen’s blog post too!

This is probably the most famous wall in Grand Rapids. EVERY photographer uses this wall and with good reason. The owner of this building could make a fortune if he charged us to use his wall for a backdrop.

Jeremy took on a James Dean-like pose while reading the sign on the building.

This is another favorite location. So much texture and grit!

Jamie and James are school teachers (unsung hero’s!) that are soon moving to South Africa. I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding in Holland last Saturday on a picture perfect day. Picture perfect….. get it?? The very talented Kelly Braman was very kind to work with me and we both got some amazing photos.
