The weather was absolutely perfect and we decided to meet at Groleau’s Farm Market and go from there. Well, once we started looking around the property, it was apparent we would not need to go anywhere else for the photos. The owners of Groleau’s were very kind to let us use their property and we made great use of their barns and fields and most of all, their hospitality.

I remember looking at my proofs and basically pointing to a random photo and declaring it the winner. One pose, one photo to capture the essence of a graduating senior in 1985.

The class of ’09, on the other hand, has so many options available to them that it boggles the mind. I had the pleasure of photographing Kaleigh and Chris, cousins from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Kaleigh is going to be a senior at Jenison High School and Chris is going to be a senior at Catholic Central High School. We all met up at the studio and traveled around the Monroe avenue area to get some really cool shots. We wrapped the session up with some fun stuff in the studio.

I’m intrigued by the whole “fingers in the pocket’ look. In my day, we stuck our whole hand in our pockets. Times have changed.
