Just enough light tonight to get in a quick outdoor shot. This is the playground at the Iroquois Middle School in Ottawa Hills. The school is directly across from our house so it made for a short session. Converted to black and white with a hint of mocha added for good measure.

I am very honored and pleased to report this photo was chosen as the Michigan is Amazing ‘Photo of the Day’ for 9/18/2007. Please check out their site! In addition to featuring the beautiful state of Michigan in photos, the site features events, articles, peoples, places and things that make Michigan great. The site is also features a lot of consumer-driven/written content.

This photo is becoming my all-time favorite. I am a huge fan of low-light photography and have been working to expand my portfolio and knowledge in this area. Everything seemed to come together for this photo – lighting, weather, composition and timing. If I had to choose a photo that best defines where I want to be as a photographer, this is the photo I’d use.
