Scott, Mary and their awesome Golden Retriever, Logan, arrived with a can-do attitude and they weren’t about to let a little rain and wind spoil the day. With the high winds we’ve had recently, most of the leaves have been stripped off the trees but we were still able to get some fall colors. Just as we arrived at the covered bridge, the rain really let loose so we ducked under the roof to let it pass through. I decided to play around with the flash since I had a captive audience and the result was a somewhat moody silhouette of Scott and Mary with Logan in the middle. I love how it turned out but the ‘regular’ photos are some of my favorites in 2009. Enjoy the short preview!

We started our journey at the studio and meandered our way to Lowell and its star attraction, the covered bridge at Fallsburg Park. We had a bit of unplanned excitement when a train came roaring through just as we stepped off the railroad trestle. As you’ll see in the photos, I have been wrong all these years when I say that the bridge is no longer used. I’m not sure if I will use the bridge with future clients so I am happy we got an AMAZING photo of Angie and Chris with the city of Grand Rapids behind them.

Yes, a train came through but as you can see, there is a ‘walkway’ of sorts. The bridge is in a sad state of repair so I was shocked to see a train.
