Engaged!! :: Angie and Chris :: May 15, 2010

We had a great time spending the afternoon with Angie and Chris in the beautiful fall weather. We started our journey at the studio and meandered our way to Lowell and its star attraction, the covered bridge at Fallsburg Park. We had a bit of unplanned excitement when a train came roaring through just as we stepped off the railroad trestle. As you’ll see in the photos, I have been wrong all these years when I say that the bridge is no longer used. I’m not sure if I will use the bridge with future clients so I am happy we got an AMAZING photo of Angie and Chris with the city of Grand Rapids behind them.

I don’t think I will ever grow tired of the blue wall behind our studio. That wall has become a photographic rite of passage for just about everyone in Grand Rapids!

Yes, a train came through but as you can see, there is a ‘walkway’ of sorts. The bridge is in a sad state of repair so I was shocked to see a train.

Smita and Ankur :: Engagement Session

On the hottest day this year, Smita and Ankur boldly ventured out with us for their engagement session. From climbing trees in traditional Indian attire to balancing on an old railroad trestle, these two didn’t let anything stop them. They are fearless!! We are really looking forward to their wedding in September. Hope you enjoy the photos!

As I was preparing proofs for Rachael and Bani, I came across a couple more photos that I absolutely love from their recent session. I have received a couple of comments asking if this really part of an engagement session and the answer is yes! There are no rules when it comes to photography and who says engagement sessions have to be predictable?? Wait until you see their wedding photos later this summer!

I can’t wait to photograph Rachael and Bani’s wedding in August. We got together last night for their engagement session and, well, I’ll let the sneak preview speak for itself. Kristin and Brian :: Engagement/Family Session :: Sneak Peek

Kristin and Brian are one of those couples that scream, “WE ARE IN LOVE!!!” We have the honor of photographing their wedding in August and also got to spend some time with them last week for a couple of hours. We turned their engagement session into a family portrait session and had a great time. As the proofs are uploading, I thought I’d add a couple photos here for a sneak peek. Yes, that is the famous ‘blue wall’ behind the studio!! It will be a sad, sad day if they ever decide to change the paint color or tear the building down.
