2009 was a busy, busy, insanely busy year full of great opportunities, beautiful weddings and photographic goodness. I had the extreme pleasure of getting to assist two brilliant photographers, Amy Carroll and Jen Badalamenti, for most of 2009. Thousands of photos, hundreds of miles in the car and countless laughs best describe the whirlwind wedding season with Amy and Jen. My sincere thanks to both of them for allowing me to be a part of their photographic family!
Kelly Braman and Karyn May are two special photographers and friends that found time in their busy schedules to assist me with several weddings in 2009. They are so talented and always went the extra mile to get the best photographs possible. They are so giving of their time, knowledge and energy. I simply can not say enough great things about these two and hope to work with them again in 2010.
Then there is Emilie Eve, our awesome hair stylist and makeup artist. She spent a considerable amount of time in the studio this year assisting with our boudoir sessions and provided the beauty magic that our clients simply love. I also recruited her to assist with wardrobe, lighting, posing and even convinced her to run the photo booth at a recent wedding reception. She does it all!
That brings us to my beautiful wife, Rhonda. She is the glue that keeps everything together and an integral part of Darrin Wassom Photography. She has been involved with nearly every project and client in 2009, often behind the scenes and under the radar. Most clients will meet her at the studio or on-location and see her in action. She can herd cats, spot an errant hair or rogue thread from a mile away or find just the right words of encouragement to bring out a smile on the most stubborn of kids. She’s my source of energy, my voice of reason, my cheerleader and my biggest fan.
Okay, okay, let’s get to my favorite photos of 2009. Without further ado, I present part one.
