When we last met the storm was just starting to roll in and it was starting to look “not so good” for the wedding. An announcement that it would be delayed for an hour spread like wildfire through the assembled family and friends. Shortly after the announcement, the storm hit hard and fast. One of the tents actually started to go airborne and had it not been for the Bell’s Oberon, all might have been lost. This is a beer soooooooo good that people simply don’t mind standing in buffeting winds and driving rain to keep the tent from blowing away!

Once it became apparent the weather was not going to cooperate, there was a decision to move the ceremony into one of the family cottages. People quickly gathered in the tiny living room and without a bit of hesitation, the ceremony started. It was simply beautiful and while it didn’t last more than a few minutes, it is a moment in time that will never be forgotten.
The parents of the groom got a front row seat! Um, yeah, I know that is normal but I wanted to overstate the obvious! : ) Actually, I point this out because only the parents and immediate family members had room to sit. Aside from one row of chairs, it was literally standing room only.

What? Is that all the photos from the ceremony? Well, no. Because it was such a small room and in a very intimate setting, the flash and the noise from the shutter of the camera was causing a distraction. Lara Parent, the primary photographer, continued to shoot while I ducked down and stayed out of the way. She captured some amazing and beautiful photos from the ceremony that you will be able to see on her website!

As the reception kicked into high gear, the rain stopped and it turned into the perfect night. We decided to catch the sunset on the beach and I was able to get some great photos of Pete and Kate in the process.
